Surgery & Technique
What is the difference between rhinoplasty and septoplasty?
Septoplasty corrects a deviated septum to restore nasal breathing and does not change the external shape of the nose. Rhinoplasty reshapes the external nose. The two are often combined as a septorhinoplasty when a patient has both an obstructed airway and aesthetic concerns.
Why is revision rhinoplasty more complex than a first operation?
Revision surgery works through scarred tissue with altered anatomy, and cartilage that was removed during the first operation often has to be replaced with grafts taken from the septum, ear or rib. Planning and operating time are therefore longer than in primary rhinoplasty.
What is a deep plane facelift and how does it differ from other facelifts?
A deep plane facelift releases and repositions the SMAS layer together with the overlying skin as a single unit, rather than pulling the skin alone. Because the lift is carried by deeper tissue, the result sits more naturally and lasts longer, particularly across the midface and jawline.
Can facial surgery be combined with treatment for hearing problems?
Assessment can be combined, since Dr. Dağlı is an ENT surgeon as well as a facial plastic surgeon. Whether procedures are performed in the same session depends on the specific diagnosis and is decided after examination and audiological testing.
Recovery & Results
How long does swelling last after rhinoplasty?
Around eighty per cent of swelling resolves within the first three months. The remainder, concentrated at the tip, settles gradually across the rest of the first year, which is why final photographs are taken at twelve months.
When will I be presentable in public after a facelift?
Most patients feel comfortable meeting people at two to three weeks, once bruising has faded and early swelling has settled. Refinement of the jawline and neck continues over the following months.
Will there be a visible scar after rhinoplasty?
In open rhinoplasty a small incision is made across the columella, the strip of skin between the nostrils. It is typically a few millimetres long and fades to become difficult to see once healed. All other incisions are inside the nose.
How long do facelift results last?
A deep plane result is typically durable over ten years or more, though ageing continues from the new baseline. Longevity depends on tissue quality, sun exposure, weight stability and smoking as much as on the surgery itself.
Travelling & Practical
How long should I stay in Antalya after surgery?
Plan seven to ten days for rhinoplasty and around fourteen days for a facelift, so that dressings or sutures can be removed and the early result reviewed before you fly home.
Do you consult with patients before they travel to Türkiye?
Yes. Patients travelling from abroad are assessed remotely first through photographs and a video consultation, and receive a written treatment plan before booking. An in-person examination in Antalya always takes place before surgery is confirmed.
Where does surgery take place?
All procedures are carried out in fully equipped, accredited hospital operating theatres in Antalya, with anaesthesia delivered by consultant anaesthetists and overnight observation where indicated.
How does follow-up work after I return home?
Recovery is reviewed on a set schedule through photographs and video consultation, continuing through the first year when swelling fully settles. Dr. Dağlı conducts these reviews personally.
